When meeting someone for the first time, it takes less than a second to form an opinion of someone, and that happens mostly by looking at a person’s face. Here we discuss Vitiligo Face Treatments and how to cope with the condition during treatment.
Vitiligo can be treated, and here we discuss the various treatments for Vitiligo on the different areas of the Face. Namely the Eyes, Lips, Cheek, and Forehead. We also discuss ways to help you cope with Vitiligo while you are undergoing treatment.
Coping with Vitiligo and being able to ‘de-stress’ is important. Not only does it speed up treatment results, but you will find that you are less conscious about the condition and before long you will notice the pigment freckles starting to appear within the white spots or patches you are treating.
Vitiligo is caused by the lack of a pigment called melanin in the skin. Melanin is produced by skin cells called Melanocytes, and it gives your skin its own natural colour. When the Melanocytes that produce your melanin become damaged, your skin starts to turn white, and the first signs are small spots or patches appearing.
Vitiligo Eye Treatment:
Cases of Vitiligo around the eyes are common. For many people, the first signs of Vitiligo are the appearance of white patches around the eyes as cells in the skin lose their pigmentation. Those who manage to treat the condition at that early stage often do not see a recurrence of Vitiligo.
Early treatment is recommended. Once pigmentation is seen again, your stress levels drop, and the further spread of the condition is eliminated.
The areas around apertures or openings in the wall of skin, such as eyes, ears and mouth are particularly susceptible to Vitiligo, possibly because we tend to rub our eyes, ears, or mouth more than most other parts of the face.
Because we are taught to look into someone’s eyes when meeting or talking to a person, we immediately notice the eye area. Likewise, we tend to drop our gaze to a person’s lips every now and then when a person is speaking. This means that eyes and lips are prominent when we look at a person, and if the Vitiligo is in that area, it is immediately noticeable.
It is important that you use a specially formulated treatment around the eyes. You have to be very careful because the skin around the eyes is very thin and sensitive. The skin surrounding the eyes is far more delicate than general skin on the rest of your face.
So, what is the best product when treating Vitiligo on the eye areas?
Vitilox® Vitiligo Rapid Eye Treatment has been formulated for the treatment of the sensitive skin area around your eyes and on your eye-lids.
Since the face plays a critical role in physical attractiveness and is most likely to affect self-esteem, we felt compelled to address this issue and formulated a product that can treat the face and eye area quickly and safely.
As the Vitiligo Rapid (VR) product is more of a concentrate of our Pigmentation Cream, we are also able to treat the smaller spots on the face area as well.
Note that in some cases you may find that your eye-lashes have lost their colour. When treating the eye-lashes, you need to apply the Vitiligo Rapid on the end of the eye-lid only. It is not necessary to treat the hair follicles of the eye-lash as the Vitiligo Rapid cream will absorb under the skin and treat the hair follicle itself.
This product is safe, effective, and contains natural ingredients.
Ingredients:
Kalahari Melon oil, Avocado oil, Xanthan gum, Shea Butter, Vegetable Glycerine, Vitamin E, Lipoproteins, Oligoelements
Application:
Wash your eye areas with warm water and dry your skin thoroughly before applying the Vitiligo Rapid (VR) Cream. Note that when applying this product only a very small amount of the cream is required on the white Vitiligo areas.
Application is advised twice a day, in the mornings and evenings. For faster results, we do suggest exposing the eye area to natural sunlight for 5 minutes daily after application.
Vitiligo Lip Treatment:
Vitiligo Lip Treatment is recommended immediately once Vitiligo appears on the inner lip area.
The inner lip normally becomes irritated by certain foods or drinks and this skin trauma triggers the condition. Initially, the white lesions or spots often appear red in colour. After a few weeks, the redness recedes and you will see the white spots, or stripes appearing on the inner lip. This is due to the pigment-producing cells being damaged.
We have combined the healing properties of our Vitilox Pigmentation Cream into an easy-to-use Lip Balm. The waxy lip balm will ensure the active ingredients are absorbed and have time to work below the skin’s surface.
There are no known side effects when using this Vitilox® Vitiligo Lip Balm as instructed, as it is made from natural ingredients.
It is safe for all ages and comes conveniently packaged to carry in your bag or pocket.
Why You Should Treat Vitiligo of the Lips
The lips are a very visible part of the body that you cannot hide. When you socialize, people will look you in the face to communicate.
While women can wear lipstick it often does not camouflage the depigmented spots completely. If you require any reassurance regarding the lip treatment, please contact one of our consultants.
Application:
The Vitilox Vitiligo Lip balm is best applied to the inner lip area 3 – 4 times a day. The first application is recommended after breakfast, and then again after lunch, late afternoon, with the last application at bedtime.
Vitiligo Cheek Treatment:
Vitiligo on your cheeks is normally caused by sun trauma, cosmetic chemical irritation or soaps that contain chemical elements. In these cases, it does carry on spreading until you stop the cause.
Make sure you use a strong sun screen when venturing out into the sun. We suggest that if you already have Vitiligo, keep some sun screen handy. You never know when you will need it.
If you find your skin is irritated after using a new cosmetic or moisturiser, stop immediately. We do have numerous cases where Vitiligo started after skin ‘blistering’ from acne removal products, exfoliators, and certain moisturisers.
Note that if you are prone to Vitiligo, the condition may spread to your face. By using the correct treatment, we are able to stop the further spread of the condition.
As Vitiligo on the cheek often spread from small spots into patches, early treatment is recommended.
For treating Vitiligo on the face, we recommend using our Vitilox® Vitiligo Pigmentation Cream and Vitamins.
Vitilox Pigmentation Cream penetrates deep into the skin’s cells. The Melanocytes are stimulated into releasing Melanin which is the pigment that gives your skin its characteristic colour.
The amount of Melanin released is what determines your skin tone. Vitilox® Pigmentation Cream for Vitiligo contains stimulants which are absorbed into the skin causing these cells to re-activate. As Vitilox Pigmentation Cream only contains natural ingredients there are no known side effects. It is 100% safe.
The Vitilox® Vitamins B12, D3 and Folic acid work effectively in slowing down and stopping the Vitiligo from spreading further.
You would also need to start the pigmentation process again, and this would be accomplished with the Vitilox® Pigmentation Cream. The Vitilox Pigmentation Cream is effective and easy to apply. It is also odour free and absorbs quickly into the skin. This Cream is the ‘trigger’ in restoring your natural pigmentation.
Wash your cheeks with warm water and dry the areas thoroughly before application of the Pigmentation Cream. For best results application is advised twice a day. The mornings and evenings would be the best time to apply the Cream.
Only one Vitilox® Vitamin is taken in the morning with breakfast. This ‘one-a-day Vitamin’ has been formulated to be slow absorbing and prevents the Vitiligo sufferer from having to carry around multiple Vitamins as is often the case with standard over-the-counter supplements.
Besides the physical health benefits, Vitilox Vitamin B12 and Folic Acid help relieve stress and anxiety which is essential for the well-being of patients suffering from Vitiligo. The less you stress the less the Vitiligo spreads! Folic acid is also an important element in producing healthy DNA.
Vitamin D3 is associated with an increase in tyrosinase activity, and melanogenesis which contributes to repigmentation in Vitiligo macules. Due to the covid pandemic, we have had to formulate this new element into our B12 & Folic acid to help patients now deficient in this nutrient.
Vitilox® Pigmentation Cream ingredients:
Lipoproteins, Vitamin E, Lanolin, Oligoelements, Avocado oil, Kalahari Melon oil, Vegetable Glycerine, Emulsifying Wax, Xanthan gum, Grapeseed oil, Shea-Butter.
Vitiligo Scalp & Forehead Treatment:
Vitiligo on the Forehead is common and this area is often localised or is an extension (spread) of Vitiligo on the Scalp.
The trigger of this condition is commonly skin trauma from the sun, shampoo or hair dye chemicals.
The Vitilox® Vitiligo Pigmentation Cream and Vitamins are undoubtedly the best treatment for the Forehead and Scalp. The Cream is applied twice a day (mornings and evenings) to the forehead and once a day to the scalp.
Coping with Vitiligo:
Living with Vitiligo can be challenging! After you have been diagnosed, deal with your emotions and find a solution. Get support from a reputable Vitiligo Treatment specialist and embark on a specific treatment plan – one that is sustainable for you.
Help your body by tweaking your diet to include nutrient-dense food options. Engage in an exercise or sports programme to boost your health, and then kick back and enjoy those endorphins!
Get a minimum of eight hours of good sleep per day. Continually manage your expectations and adjust them as and when necessary.
Helping your child deal with the emotional side of their Vitiligo can be difficult. They need to know that this condition only makes them a little bit different from others on the outside.
Differences are a part of life, so children with Vitiligo need not feel like outcasts. If your children are armed with enough information, it might give them the confidence to avoid potential problems before they arise. Constant communication is important, especially if you suspect that your children are being bullied.
Vitiligo (Camo) Concealers are a great way to boost your confidence while treating Vitiligo
Vitilox® Cover Cream & Setting Powder Kit is a revolutionary concealer product, able to cover your white patches effectively.
Use this with the Vitilox® Pigmentation Cream to ensure that your Vitiligo is kept hidden while your treatment is underway. The concealer comes in many shades and can easily be matched to your skin colour.
It has the added benefit of being waterproof, sweat-proof, and long-lasting (24 hours).
Tips to prevent the further spread of Vitiligo:
- Avoid Chemicals. Harsh chemicals present in facial cosmetics and cleansers can trigger the conditions that lead to white patches.
- Apply sunscreen if you are prone to Vitiligo.
- Light exercise – Walking, jogging, yoga, etc. to help destress.
